Simba Remembrance

RIP Simba. He was 15 1/2-years old. He passed away the afternoon of April 30, 2013 in the Vet's Office. He had been breathing heavily this past weekend and seemed to have difficulty trying to lie down today, so Steve took him to the vet. Simba did not like being in the cat carrier, so he was distressed about being in it then the car. He was taken out of the carrier, walked across the exam table then dropped over having had a heart attack. He was often called Simba Kitty and was a rescue brought to Ohio from Florida when Stitch was just a kitten, in August of 1999. Simba was nearly two-years old by then. He had been caught in the drywall of a house being built by friends, and when the owner called the contractor the builder said to just leave the kitten in the wall to die. The friend kicked the wall in and got on his side on the floor and coaxed Simba out of the wall. Simba lived with the parents of the friend until they could not keep him any longer. Since Simba took to me when I visited, I was asked to take him home to avoid his being taken to a shelter.

We have had three kitties pass away since October; Stitch, 13 1/2 had a stroke (he had an illness two-three years prior but after two surgeries and several rounds of antibiotics his health seemed tip-top), Ming 7+ had Intestinal Cancer and now Simba with a heart attack. Storm, our black kitty is beside himself because his buddies are gone. All are missed.
